Leona Beane was awarded the Jack Lerner Distinguished CLE Lecturer Award by New York County Lawyers Association on June 26, 2001 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Association's Continuing Legal Education Program.

Leona Beane has chaired, organized and lectured at well over 60 Certified Guardian/Court Evaluator training programs pursuant to Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law (MHL) in different parts of the State for several different bar associations, including co-chairing the programs at New York County Lawyers Association, chairing the programs at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, chairing and organizing programs for the Bronx Bar Association (jointly with several minority Bar Associations) in 1994, 1995 and 1998, organizing and chairing several programs for the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, and for the Metropolitan Women's Bar Association, in addition to having lectured at several certified guardian/court evaluator training programs for the New York State Bar Association and Practicing Law Institute.
